4 Simple Steps to a Smooth, Pain-Free Test

STEP 01

Prepare Lancet

Remove the outer cap from the lancing device. Insert a sterile lancet firmly into the holder, twist off the round protective seal, and reseat the cap securely.

STEP 02

Adjust Depth

Rotate the precision dial to calibrate penetration depth according to your skin profile (levels 1–2 for sensitive, 3–4 standard, 5–6 calloused skin).

STEP 03

Collect Sample

Position the device firmly against the lateral edge of your fingertip and activate the release trigger to obtain an exact 0.7 µL micro-sample with minimal sting.

STEP 04

Safe Disposal

Push the automatic ejection slider forward to discard the used lancet safely into a sharps container without direct finger contact with the needle.

4-Step Guide to Fast & Accurate Results

STEP 01

Cleanse & Dry Hands

Wipe both hands with an alcohol swab for disinfection. Allow fingertips to dry naturally to prevent alcohol dilution or contamination of the blood sample.

STEP 02

Load & Draw Sample

Insert lancet firmly into the pen and dial your skin depth level. Align the device tip against the fingertip site and press the trigger button to release.

STEP 03

Insert & Siphon

Insert test strip to auto-power the meter. Touch the strip's reaction tip to the blood drop for instant capillary absorption (0.7 µL required).

STEP 04

7S Result & Eject

View your lab-accurate glucose reading on the LCD in 7 seconds. Use the ejector button on the pen to discard the needle safely into a sharps container.

Key Points for Accurate Test Results

1. BEFORE USE

Ensure test strips are stored properly and are not contaminated, damp, or expired.
Clean and dry hands thoroughly with warm water or alcohol pads to prevent surface contamination.

2. DURING USE

Massage finger for 10 seconds and allow your arm to hang down prior to lancing.
Avoid touching the test strip's contact electrode bar or absorption channel directly.

Clinical Note: Consecutive back-to-back testing is unnecessary. Natural micro-variations between blood drops may cause minor fluctuating results.

FAQ / RESULT PRECISION

Why Were Results Different After Measuring Twice in a Row?

🧼 Skin Contaminants / Alcohol

Wash hands with warm water or an alcohol pad and thoroughly dry your hands and testing site before pricking.

💧 Insufficient Sample Volume

Ensure adequate blood volume (full 0.7 µL droplet) touches the siphon channel for automatic fill.

🔬 Interstitial Fluid Contamination

Wipe away the very first droplet of blood with a tissue, then test using the second rounded droplet.

📦 Test Strip Integrity Issues

Always seal strips inside their original vial with desiccant. Keep away from heat, humidity, and direct sunlight.

📍 Testing Site Location

If using alternative site testing (forearm/palm) and suspecting variance, always verify with fingertip blood.

⏱️ Sequential Time Interval

When testing consecutively within 5–10 seconds, a variance within ≤ 15% is completely normal and clinically expected.

Why Was the Home-Tested Result Different from the Hospital Lab?

(1) Home Blood Glucose Monitors (BGMs)

Home BGMs analyze whole capillary blood samples directly from your finger. Whole blood naturally contains red blood cells (RBCs), which consume glucose and create lower concentration readings.

(2) Hospital Laboratory Analyzers
Hospital laboratory tests use plasma-separated blood. Lab technicians centrifuge the blood sample to completely remove RBCs, testing glucose exclusively in the separated plasma liquid.

(3) Expected Result Discrepancy: Whole blood values are 12%–15% lower than plasma values

Example: Home Meter (Whole Blood) = 200 mg/dL | Lab Test (Plasma) = 230 mg/dL

[(230 - 200) ÷ 230] × 100 ≈ 13% (Meets ISO 15197:2013 Standards)

Different brands employ different sensor mechanisms, such as electrochemical biosensors vs. photochemical detection systems, resulting in slight baseline differences.

3. Acceptable Regulatory Window (±15% Standard)

Under international health standards, a lab reading of 200 mg/dL permits Brand A (170 mg/dL) and Brand B (230 mg/dL) to both be officially certified as valid, accurate readings.

Both meter readings fall within the valid ±15% clinical window.
